About Natalie

I create because I can’t not create. I create for my fellow thinkers and feelers. Life is art and I create to communicate the absurdity and beauty life has to offer. My mind incessantly interprets my surroundings as a potential art piece. My work evokes emotion by being both raw and elegant.

As a multidisciplinary artist, I predominantly paint in acrylic, however I do not limit my work to any one medium. Graduating from CSUN in 2005 with a BA in Fine Art and emphasis in fibers and textiles, I have always been drawn to texture and experimenting with various mediums to explore intrinsically unique applications of the unexpected.

Whether it be painting, illustration, 3D work and everything in between, my inspiration is from within, the tangible, the imaginary, but most importantly the perfect imperfection in nature. My art is a visceral journey through the mind, heart, and soul; and ultimately exposing my empathic response to life. The complex layers in life feed my instinct to create texture in my work.

Since I was young, I’ve been inspired by the beauty found in imperfection, the raw emotion provoked and perceived, and the astounding subtlety of mother nature and all things living. This can be found in my tree series, where the human figure and trees are joined as one. This present-day world can distract from true importance. I am blessed to live a creative life which consistently brings me back to my inspiration.

My work has been displayed in several group exhibits, and have had the exciting and fulfilling opportunity to work with clients on commission pieces.  In my early creative explorations I began live painting at art shows, live music venues and events. As nerve wracking as this experience can be, I have grown to embrace the nerves, and harvest the energy as fuel for creativity, while simultaneously exposing the fallible process.

In recent years I have begun showcasing my work at various venues and events. This has been an amazing way to interact with clients, fans and fellow art lovers. I look forward to exploring and discovering my endless creative journey.
